2013Coaches and Parents,
Thank you for your support and interest in the PDXC Youth XC Series and the PDXC Oregon State Middle School Championship.
We are happy to be coordinating this event and continue to work with many of the middle school teams and youth clubs to create a special middle school state championship that brings the best athletes and teams together.
We are supporting several events this year that we are trying to coordinate with other events allowing many opportunities for middle school athletes to compete in Cross Country.
The events for 2013 include:
9/22/13 @ Corbett HS 1 pm a 3k that is open for middle school and club athletes in the area.
9/28/13 @ Portland Meadows-Nike Pre Nationals- A Large race that will begin with the boys race at 8:30, girls at 8:50
10/5/13 @ Springfield Country Club-Bill Dellinger Invitational- A 3k race that will follow the same course as the collegiate athletes immediately following the collegiate races. Come early to watch these athletes compete!
10/13/13 @ Westmoreland Park in Portland-PDXC Series race at 2 weeks in advance of the State Middle School Championships.
10/27/13 @ Fernhill Park-PDXC Oregon State Middle School Championships. Details are below:
I am trying to put together a FAQ sheet for you to share with your athletes, coaches and parents to help ease the effort in getting to Portland to compete.
The meet is free of charge for athletes to compete in. We just ask that you have a waiver signed by a parent of legal guardian to be able to participate. We received a generous grant from the Willamette Valley Track and Field fund which allows in conjunction with several high school XC programs put this on for these athletes. It is a model that is being looked at around the country and viewed as a success in giving kids access to a great sport.

Instructions to enter teams and individuals will be supplied on this site if you have questions. It is important for us to have everyone registered by October 22nd in order for us to prepare the labels and packets.

12:00 Girls SuperChamps
12:30 Boys SuperChamps
1:00 Girls Champs
1:30 Boys Champs
SuperChamps is the most competitive division
AWARDS: Top 25 individuals will receive championship medals. The top 3 teams will customized team plaques. This race is open to both individuals and Middle School teams. The teams can have a maximum of 7 runners. The team scores the top 5 runners and the other 2 runners can displace other team runners. Individuals do not count in the scoring.
Champs is a less competitive division and the largest races of the day
AWARDS: Top 25 individuals will receive championship medals. The top team will receive a customized championship plaque. This race is open to both individuals and middle school teams. The teams can have an unlimited number of runners in this race. The team scores the top 5 runners and the next 2 runners can displace other team runners. Any additional team members do not count in any scoring. Individuals do not count in the scoring.
Team Awards: 2:15
Team awards will be presented following the Champs Races
Individual Awards will be awarded immediately after the race.
PDXC Shirts and Hoodies will be available to purchase with the option of adding Championship Details for an additional $3-5.
PDXC Short Sleeve shirts available for $10, Long Sleeve for $15 and Hoodie for $25.

The more information I can supply to insure directions to the meet. registration, meet day information and information about the races and awards....it will be worth the time spent typing it.
